Resident Training and Employment Program

The Housing Authority is proud to work with a wide array of community partners to offer events to our residents that supply information on and engagement with education, training, and employment opportunities.

Since June 2023, residents have been able to attend sessions including:

HACR provides the opportunity for adults to participate in many programs.

Examples of those programs include:

  • A self-defense class for women
  • A partnership with the Richmond Police Dept. to develop a multi-family crime-free housing program that includes staff/resident certification
  • Healthy Eating Seminar
  • Financial Literacy Workshop

If the Housing Authority hears from enough of its residents that they are interested, we will be able to partner with our Purdue Extension Office to offer Free Cooking and nutrition classes based on the eat, gather, go program.

If you are a resident (Section 8 voucher recipient or a resident of Jerry Geier (Westwood), Bobby Smith (Norwood), Southview, or Merle Henderson apartments), please let us know if you're interested or click here to fill out an Interest Form.
